On Saturday 8 April 2017 Banbridge Angling Club angler Andrew Rea was competing on Lough Erne against Ulster’s top competition fly fishermen in a first stage qualifier to select Ireland’s Lough Fly Fishing team. He caught a great Brown Trout of 1.105kg to finish in a very credible 13th position. Andrew now progresses to fish in the inter provincial qualifier on Lough Mask in September 2017. Andrew is a very skilled fly fisherman. In 2014 he represented Ireland as a Youth International and was very successful in fishing against England, Scotland and Wales. Andrew is also a very affable young man and a great ambassador for Banbridge Angling Club and the Banbridge district. The Club congratulates Andrew on his success to date and wishes him every success in the inter provincial competition. The photograph shows Andrew with a nice Brown Trout.
