BAC Sam Watt, Geoffrey Hylands, Lord Mayor Gareth Wilson and Sam Vage – ABC Council Evening to recognise Geoffrey Hylands World Cup Winner – 8 February 2018

On Thursday 8 February 2018 The Lord Mayor Gareth Wilson, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council hosted a special evening at the Banbridge Civic Building to recognise popular local angler Geoffrey Hylands fantastic achievement in winning the World Cup Trout Fly Angling Championship (‘The World Cup’) on Lough Mask on 7 August 2017. The World Cup is the biggest and most prestigious fly fishing competition in the world. It is the ultimate prize in competition fly fishing for trout. Geoffrey won the competition after five days of very hard and challenging fishing. He caught a total of six fish in the final with four fish counting for the weigh-in. The Lord Mayor congratulated Geoffrey on his remarkable achievement and wished him every success when he returns to Lough Mask in 2018 to defend his title. Geoffrey, his family and his wide circle of friends thoroughly enjoyed a great evening.
