The annual Easter Monday competition for the Linda McCandless Cup was fished on the River Bann. The fishing was very challenging with bright conditions and low water. However those anglers that persevered were rewarded with a few nice trout. Martin Dynes fished upstream from the town and he caught and returned a couple of nice trout which were just under the competition size limit. He then caught a nice fish on a black spider and this fish was a keeper. At the weigh in Martin Dynes was declared the winner with a nice brown trout of almost 1lb, Geoff Hylands was 2nd with another nice trout of just under 1lb and Trevor Jones was 3rd. Dr Jacqueline McCandless along side her father Joe McCandless presented the Linda McCandless Cup to Martin Dynes.
