BAC – The Black Pennels at Corbet Lough on 2 May 2019

Since the start of the season, and particularly since the boat fishing started on 1 April, the fishing at the Corbet Lough has been absolutely terrific with lots of fish being caught, including some very big fish up to 5lbs. One of the highlights of the season to date was The Black Pennels outing at the Corbet Lough on Thursday 2 May. The Black Pennels have contacted the Club to convey their appreciation and thanks for a great day’s fishing. In their e-mail they state: I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thanks for the event on Thursday.

Firstly, the fishing was excellent, with 239 fish caught by 23 anglers, which we all think was a cracking days fishing. There are very few venues that return a rod average of over 10 fish per angler.

Secondly, the hospitality provided by Andy and Darrell (the Boat Attendants) was top class, with a friendly chat and advice for anyone who needed it.

Thirdly, the quality of the boats was very high, with each and every boat being in top order, clean as empty of any rubbish. Some venues we go to, there are some poorly maintained boats, but every one of the 6 was in great shape.

The Club remind visiting and occasional anglers that Day Tickets and Evening Tickets (from 5pm) for the Corbet Lough are available from just £11. These can be be purchased from the Boat Attendants Office, Corbet Lough and the nearby Anglers Rest Bar and Bistro, Aughnacloy Road, Corbet. In addition boats, including an electric engine, battery and life jacket for fly fishing can also be hired from the Boat Attendants Office for just £3 per hour.
