BAC Geoff Hylands World Cup Winner 2017 – Lough Mask 7 August 2017

The oldest and most prestigious fly fishing competition in the world is back again after being cancelled for the past 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ‘World Cup’ will be fished on Lough Mask, Co Mayo during the period 27th July 2022 – 31st July 2022. The competition was first fished in 1953 and this is the 63rd occasion when it has been fished. The organisers anticipate that about 500 anglers, including many from Northern Ireland, the UK and further afield, will fish in the competition. This entry field will also include a number of anglers from Banbridge Angling Club, the Banbridge district and locality. There are 4 heats with about 100 anglers in each heat over the period 27th July 2022 – 30th July 2022 and then a grand final on Sunday 31st July 2022. Banbridge Angling Club wish all our local anglers a safe and successful trip. Hopefully a local angler can repeat Geoff Hylands’ success of 2017 and once again bring home the big Cup.
