ABC Council has issued the following advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we are all going through some sort of isolation at this\npresent moment we all need to look after our mental health\u00a0just the same\nas everybody looks after their physical health.\u00a0There are times when\nthings can get on top of us and affect our mental health.\u00a0It is estimated\nthat one in four people in Northern Ireland will have a mental health problem\nat some point in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it can be the\nsimplest things that can help improve our mental health and build protective\nfactors into our lives.\u00a0There are five steps we can all take to improve\nour mental wellbeing.\u00a0 Try to build these into your daily life \u2013 think of\nthem as your \u2018five a day\u2019 for wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Connect<\/strong>\u00a0with\nthe people around you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Be active\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 walk,\ncycle, run or play<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Take notice\u00a0<\/strong>of the\nworld around you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Keep learning\u00a0<\/strong>or try\nsomething new<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Give\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 do\nsomething nice for someone else<\/p>\n\n\n\n
