The big change this season was the introduction of \u2018catch and release\u2019 at all competitions with all fish measured and returned unharmed. The competitions were extremely competitive and as enjoyable as ever with some great fish and bags of fish being caught and measured throughout the season. The Angler of the Year competition was very similar to last year with Geoff Hylands and Roger McClements competing throughout the season for the top spot. Over the course of the season there was eleven different competition winners and twenty three anglers scored points. At the end of the season Geoff took the honours and the accolade of Angler of the Year 2026 with 26 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Juvenile section of the Angler of the Year competition there was very few anglers competing this season. At the end of the season the final result was a tie between Louis Clarke and Xavier Mackle with both finishing on 3 points. Louis and Xavier are the Club\u2019s joint Juvenile Anglers of the Year 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well done to all the prize winners and thank you to all those who participated and supported the competitions over the season. It was good to see a few new faces taking part. Also a word of thanks to Damian Murtagh for running the competitions for the last few years.
