BAC – Boat Anglers Cup at Corbet Lough on 28 June 2024

On Saturday 6 July the Club’s competition anglers fished an evening competition at the Corbet Lough. The adult anglers were fishing for the Jordan Cup and the juveniles were fishing for the Barlow Shield. At the weigh-in Dessy Graham won the Jordan Cup with Colin Crothers and Martin Dynes 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the juvenile competition Khalid Hassan Noor won the Barlow Shield and Tyler Hanna was 2nd. On Saturday 13 July Roger McClements was out on the River for a few hours in the afternoon fly fishing catch and release. He caught a number of beautiful wild brownies up to about 15 inches. On Saturday 20 July the Club’s competition anglers were at the Corbet Lough for another evening competition. The adults were fishing for the Woods/McClory Cup and the juveniles were fishing for the Corbet Cup. At the weigh-in Geoff Hylands, who was returning to the competitions after a short absence, won the adult competition and the Woods/McClory Cup. Martin Dynes and Frank Kearney were 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the juvenile competition Khalid Hassan Noor won the Corbet Cup and Tyler Hanna was 2nd. On Saturday 27 July the Club’s competition anglers were at Spelga Dam in the Mourne Mountains to fish for the Linda Clinghan Shield. It was a very challenging day’s fishing. At the weigh-in Wilson Clinghan won the Linda Clinghan Shield with a great fish of 1.6lbs.
