The opening day of the season was a pleasant fresh day and a lot of anglers took the opportunity to get their daily exercise at the Corbet Lough. Although it was a little colder with a brisk easterly breeze during the morning this was when the Lough fished best on the day. Leonard Ervine also had a nice fish on the fly. On Wednesday 3 March it was a very cold morning at the Corbet Lough and there were very few anglers on the water. However Stevie Rea fished the fly for a couple of hours and he had a nice Rainbow. On Saturday 6 March the conditions were very pleasant at the Corbet Lough for this time of the year and there was a good turn out of local anglers. Darryl Alexander caught 2 very good Rainbows on the fly. Leonard Ervine, Paul McKinstry, Davy McCandless and Wilson Clinghan also caught some good fish on the fly. On Thursday 18 March Brendan Downey had some great sport at the Corbet Lough catching a nice over wintered Rainbow of 2.5lbs on the fly.
