The Club has decided to re-open the Corbet Lough for shore fishing only from Thursday 20 July. Although boat fishing was scheduled to recommence from Thursday 27 July due to operational reasons boat fishing will not now recommence until Thursday 3 August. As part of the Club’s ongoing monitoring of the Corbet Lough all anglers fishing the Corbet are requested to report back to the Boat Attendants with details of how long they fished, fishing method, if they caught anything and the general condition of any fish they caught. All the normal Corbet Lough fishing rules and bag limits still apply.

The Club is continuing to monitor the conditions and fishing at the Corbet Lough. The recent cooler weather and rain has seen the water tempertature at the Corbet drop from over 22 degrees to around 17 degrees and a slight improvement in the water oxygen levels. There are fewer stressed fish and overall the Lough is improving. There is still a lot of weed, particularly in the shallow top and bottom bays and around parts of the shore. Indeed the Club has plans to arrange open work parties over the next few weeks for all members and volunteers to help remove some of the weed to give better access for fishing.
